My journey as a lactation professional started when i succeeded, with professional help, in re-lactating myself, for breast feeding my adopted baby. I was not aware that I could re-lactate myself without getting pregnant!
There has been no looking back since. Fascinated by the capabilities of the human body, and driven by an urge to fill a professional /skill void in helping lactating mothers, it has led me to who I am and what I do today. * IBCLC is the title confered on practitioners who successfully clear the gold standard
exam conducted by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).
India currrently has only 186 IBCLCs. I am one of them and cleared the exam in June
2022 with 91.6 percent.
